Our Sri Lankan vanilla is a Planifolia vanilla, also known from Madagascar and Uganda, and is celebrated for its extraordinary richness of flavour. The vanilla grows and thrives in wild forest gardens and is cultivated by small farmers around the city of Kandy and in the mountains of the Nuwara Eliya area.
